Walking with Wounded Hero at the Sun

The Sun Inn shall be open from mid-day this Bank Holiday and during the early afternoon Capt Guy Disney shall be visiting the Sun.

A Captain in the Army, Guy Disney was wounded whilst serving in Afghanistan, his right leg was blown off by a rocket-propel grenade in 2009. Post-injury and post-amputation he continued to serve and took part in both of the Walking With The Wounded challenges on the North Pole Expedition and the South Pole Challenge.

Wet & Wonderful Wassail

Anthony Handy of Leominster Morris wrote: "Leominster Morris has been wassailing since 1983, when we revived this venerable local custom which had lapsed for nearly a century since Ella Leather mentioned it in her book, 'The Folklore of Herefordshire'. 30 years...but we have never been hosted so solicitously & generously as we were on Monday at The Sun Inn. Very many thanks to Gary and his team for your enthusiasm and welcome. Between us all (LM, The Sun Inn, Paul & all the friends & locals who turned out on an appallingly wet evening), we drove away the forces of darkness and had a splendid night"

Beer Festival

Last years Annual Beer Festival was another great success. As always it was held on the SUNDAY of the August Bank holiday. The festival was opened at Midday by the Sun's Mayor Roger Griffiths. Over 2,600 local Real Ales & cider, perry were quaffed. The Music performed by various local musicians and bands was up to it's usual high standard (Many thanks to Nick Simon). A big thank-you for all who attended and everyone who helped make it yet another brilliant Beer Festival. Don't forget this years 9th Beer Festival will be held on Sunday 24th August.
